Edgewater Motor Lodge - Napier

Clean hotel in a beautiful building adjacent to different sights to see around Napier and the beach, playground and shops and cafes. Very comfy bed, new-fashioned room with a lovely view of the ocean. Perfect marvellous location, to the citycentre.

Close to city and beach

Smallest hotel room in the world. Manager (I think it was the Manager who I paid my account to) did not show any interest in me as a customer. Did not inquire whether I enjoyed my stay and was not even pleasant.

All fine, but noise issues

Friendly staff and good location. Plenty of room in the room.

A little dark room on the ground floor.

We required god accommodation close to town for restraunts and easy to get to the Rugby World Cup

Bit cloae to main road but it was not a big problem

The guy at the fromnt counter when I checked in was a very nice person, and very helpful.

I am 6ft 7inc, and the bed was a bit small, however I know you can't cater for everyone.

Good and absolutely perfect setting, I had good time.

Everything was very good, great value for money. The hotel was well-equipped, I appreciated its efficient staff. The place had a quiet atmosphere. Location: the property was short walk to large trucks rumbling passed as well as the best beaches. It also was to the South Island...

The location is great and beautiful to a waterfall we would have missed. The units are compact, modern.

The location was excellent,close to town and great views of the sea.The staff were friendly and helpful.

My t.v didn't work,a problem witht the channels,a bit annoying as i only came for one night to relax,but the staff were excellent and trying to help fix it.

I liked the room as it was so close to the beach and city. The side entrance allowed privacy whilst coming and going. The location of the motel was excellent as it was right on Marine Parade, so it was only a short walk to and from restaurants, beach, corner diary and shopping center. The cleaning staff were pleasant and accommodating, and the proprietor was helpful and welcoming also. He looked after my luggage even though I had already booked out of the room, gave me an excellent price for internet connection and provided good laundry services on site. His attitude was great! Nothing appeared to be a bother, and that's the type of service you want. So kudos to him and the establishment he runs. A most enjoyable, pleasant stay!

When people contact the motel and even though there is an extension number, it still has to be picked up by the staff and transferred to the room. I wanted my partner to phone and as it was late I was conscious that the staff would have to pick up the call. I don't like bothering people, especially because of the time factor. This somewhat curtailed my freedom of having people from home make contact with me.

1. The overall lighting in Unit 8 is not good, especially in the kitchen space. 2. The bathroom vanity is tatty. 3. The private parking at rear of motel is very 'tight'. 4. WalIs seemed to be very think and I had very noisy 'neighbour' in No.9 on evening of Sat 1st Dec who I had to visit at 11.30 pm to tone down the noise. They settled by midnight so I had no need to inform the motel office.

The location is just fine, right across from the beach. The spacious room had everything we needed, and the clean bathroom was a big plus!

Nice comfortable bed, spacious, big kitchenet, spa bath, location, very clean, nice staff, off road parking,free wifi, quiet.
